I have always loved all things beauty and art. Initially I went to CCAD (art school) to study Illustration and became a K-12 art teacher. I loved working with kids and fostering their creativity. But eventually I found myself craving more time and energy to create outside of work. I knew I needed to go into something that allowed me to still be creative, be around people, and most importantly, have a positive impact! For me, the obvious answer was the beauty industry.
 

As a child, my mom always encouraged me to embrace my curls even when we were trying new products and dealing with tangles! My mom used to wear her hair relaxed and my dad's hair is straight, so at first I did wish I had straighter hair like them. It took getting older and trying to do my own hair to learn to appreciate my curls! My mom also made the switch to natural hair and together we were learning how to care for our hair. We would watch all the curly hair YouTube videos together and try out their tips and tricks! I think seeing her learn right along with me was what finally made me fully embrace my curls. 

Once in cosmetology school, I knew pretty quickly I wanted to focus on curls. Cutting curly hair has quickly become my favorite part of working with curls. It is extremely satisfying seeing curls spring back into place as you cut them! I enjoy that so much of curly hair is visual, especially cutting. I am always telling clients that cutting curly hair feels like a form of sculpture. And yet,it only gets better when the transformation is complimented, with dimensional color that enhances the curls. It never gets old!

I am very passionate about making sure clients love their curls every step of the way. I genuinely love the process of pampering them and I want clients to leave feeling cared for and just as gorgeous as they are. I understand the nerves that go into letting someone else do your hair and I deeply appreciate the trust and confidence that they put in me in allowing me to get to work with such beautiful hair! It always feels like such a privilege to help my clients with their hair. I hope they can walk away knowing that their stylist cares just as deeply about the result as they do!

**Lexi has completed her Curl Immersion Internship for cutting, styling and all over/root color. While her technical skills and results with highlight services are quite strong, they are still considered at internship level pricing for now as she continues to hone her timing and formulations.
